Optimized Automotive Panel

We recently partnered with an automotive manufacturer to 3D print a critical fixture for their assembly line.

The client was facing a challenge: they needed to reduce maintenance time and manufacture parts that adhered to their organization's rigorous environmental standards.

Traditionally, the assembly fixtures they used were composed of multiple parts, each requiring intricate assembly and significant maintenance time. Moreover, there was no existing 3D printer capable of producing these panels as single units within their tight timeframe.

At this point, we stepped in, not only to help solve their immediate problem but to engage collaboratively in refining the panel's design and performance.

With our extensive expertise in materials, we suggested changes that increased heat resistance and impact strength compared to the client's initial specifications. Our recommendation ensured the final panel was not only optimized for its material composition but also met its functional requirements, end-use considerations, and their tight timeline.

The outcome of our partnership was a resounding success. Together, we created an assembly fixture, optimized for additive manufacturing, that demonstrated unprecedented performance characteristics. At Think Variant we are committed to providing innovative solutions, expertly tailored to address the unique needs of our clients.
